RETHINK IRELAND INVITES REQUESTS TO TENDER FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE
EDUCATION INNOVATION FUND
REQUEST FOR TENDER: We are seeking tenders from suitably qualified
individuals or organisations to assess ?what works? in terms of
awardees? interventions to tackle educational disadvantage, and
?what works? in terms of Rethink Ireland?s financial and
non-financial support to awardees.
RATIONALE: The purpose of the evaluation is to identify ?what
works? in terms of awardees? interventions to tackle educational
disadvantage and ?what works? in terms of Rethink Ireland?s
financial and non-financial supports to awardees so that:
* Awardees have evidence and improved capacity (knowledge, skills,
resources) to increase their impact going forward
* Rethink Ireland can assess progress towards achieving its strategic
Education goals:
* More students progress along education framework across their
lifespan
* More people experiencing disadvantage progress into employment
* More people are lifted out of poverty, often bringing their
families with them
* ?Ireland becomes a learning society
* Rethink Ireland can use the learnings from the Fund to inform and
develop its future work including its a) Fund scoping/selection
processes b) capacity building programme c) public education work d)
processes of engagement with awardees

BACKGROUND:
Rethink Ireland works with strategic partners to create Funds that
help innovations rise to the challenges of Ireland's most pressing
social and environmental issues. To date, we have invested over

robust evidence for overcoming educational disadvantage. In addition
to cash grants, non-financial supports designed to maxisime their
impact and drive organisaitonal efficiencies are also provided to the
awardees of Rethink Ireland Funds.
With the support of the Department of Rural and Community Development,
Rethink Ireland created the Education Innovation Fund in **Apply on

promote economic empowerment. Following a lengthy selection process
nine projects were selected as awardees of the Fund, which was
